Ginataang Tilapia

Paano ba magluto ng ginataang tilapia? Super dali lamang po lutuin ng napaka sarap na Ginataang Tilapia. Para sa mga mommies na on the go or busy sa work, eto na ang easy way to cook Ginataang Tilapia. Years ago kailangan mo pang magpiga ng gata, pero sa makabagong panahon and coconut cream at coconut milk ay hindi nalalayo sa fresh coconut milk na pinipiga. Same result sa cooking at masarap din. Tandaan lamang na magkaiba po ang coconut cream sa coconut milk. Sa ginataang tilapia recipe na ito ay gumamit ako ng coconut cream dahil mas gusto kong mas creamy ang sauce. Ngunit maari din po gumamit ng coconut milk kung hindi available ang coconut cream.

GINATAANG TILAPIA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

2 lbs tilapia, cleaned (about 1 kilo)
2 cups coconut cream
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 medium onion, finely sliced
1 thumb ginger, cut into strips
1 bundle pechay 
1½ tbsp. fish sauce (patis)
4 pieces red tomato (optional)
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups fresh spinach (optional)
2 tablespoons cooking oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat the cooking oil in a cooking pot.

Sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger in the hot oil. Once the onion become soft, add the fish sauce and ground black pepper. Stir.

Pour in the coconut cream and stir. Let boil and cover. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the pechay and tilapia. Cover and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes. Add little water if needed.

Add the tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Lastly, add your spinach and simmer for 1 or 2 minutes over lowest heat.

Transfer to a serving plate.
