Simpleng ulam or lutong bahay, pero napaka-sustansya. Ito rin ba ang madalas lutuin ng iyong mama nun maliit ka pa? Sabay kanta ng.. “Makulay ang buhay sa sinabawang gulay..”

Bulanglang na Gulay Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 pound lean pork (sliced small pieces)
  • 2 eggplant; sliced
  • 15 pieces green beans
  • 2 cups sliced squash or calabaza
  • 2 sliced tomatoes;
  • 1 Ampalaya (bittermelon); sliced slanting
  • 10 okra
  • 1 cup Malunggay leaves
  • 3 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 tbsp. bagoong na alamang (shrimp paste)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ginger
  • 1 cup of water
  • dried small shrimp, optional
  • cooking oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Sautee’ together the garlic, onion and ginger until fragrant.
  2. Add the bagoong, continue to sauté.
  3. Add water and bring to boil
  4. Add the green beans, calabaza or squash; bring it to boil.
  5. After 3 minutes add the Okra, Ampalaya, Malunggay and Talong.
  6. Add more water if needed.
  7. Add dried small shrimp, season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for a minute or two.
  8. Serve hot with rice and maybe with fried Galunggong!
