Delicious Buttered Shrimp Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
1 kilogram shrimp (Suwahe)
1/2 cup butter
2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
4 tbsp garlic, minced
1 can lemon soda (for marinate)
½ cup lemon soda (for sauce)
1 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 4 tbsp water
1/2 tsp salt (or as desired)
1/2 tsp pepper (or as desired)
2 tbsp garlic powder (optional)
1 tbsp dried chili pepper (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash shrimp and using kitchen scissors, cut the antenna and small legs in the belly part. I didn’t peel off the shells because it taste better with it.
In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in lemon soda for about 10 minutes or more. Drain shrimp from soda and set aside. You can discard the soda if you like and use another ½ cup soda for the sauce later on.
Heat the pan, melt the butter over low heat and saute the garlic until golden brown.
Add the shrimp and then cook until the color turns orange about 1 or 2 minutes only.
Pour ½ cup lemon soda. Simmer until the liquid is reduced just enough for the sauce. Add in cornstarch and stir until sauce becomes thick.
Sprinkle the parsley. Add dried chili peppers, ground black pepper and salt.
