CHINESE RADISH CAKE (DIMSUM)

Fried Raddish cakes or turnip cakes! A chinese delicacy, perfectly crisp on the outside and meltingly soft inside as you bite. Dip it in chili oil or mayo!

Chinese Radish Cake or Turnip cake is a chinese dim sum made of shredded radish and rice flour. Some call it vegan dimsum and they also cook it with stir fried veggies. It looks so yummy just looking at the dim sum. There are plenty of other varieties you can recreate from these turnip cakes. Slice it into small pieces, and throw it in omellete with your favorite veggies. Fantastic and delicious!

Ingredients:  (A)

  • 200g rice flour
  • 80g wheat starch
  • 40g premier potato flour
  • 480g water

Ingredients: (B)

  • 250g radish (juliennes)
  • 60g dried shrimp( soak & drain)
  • 2 pcs chinese sausages (diced)
  • 420g water
  • 5 tbsp cooking oil

Seasoning:

  • 10g salt
  • 5g MSG
  • 30g sugar
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mix ingredients A. & set aside; blanch radish in boiling water. Drain

2. Heat oil in a wok & saute dried shrimp & sausages til fragrant, then pour water & seasoning
Ones boil, toss in mixtures (A) & turn to low heat
Stir til turn into paste

3. Pour paste into greased. 8″×8 “3 tray
Steam in high heat for 50mins
remove & let it go/ hehe let it cool I mean

4. To serve, cut radish cake & fry a little bit w/ a little bit oil
til both sides turn golden buddha or golden brown
