Homemade Chicken Nuggets Recipe

Homemade Chicken Nuggets that kids will surely love to munch. Partner it with french fries with their favorite mayo and ketchup dippings. It’s a sure family snack treat. This recipe is in Filipino version for easy adaptations. Happy cooking!

Homemade Chicken Nuggets


  • 500 grams ground chicken breast filet
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 tablespoon chicken stock or water (chilled)
  • 4 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Dash of nutmeg, to flavor
  • For the Breading:
  • Flour
  • Egg, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs


  1. In large bowl, combine all the ingredients (except for the breading). Mix it well until well incorporated and it becomes very sticky in texture. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the baking pan, line it with cling wrap and add the chicken mixture. Flatten it out evenly and compress together with a spoon. Freeze it for a few moments to let it set and become slightly firm but not frozen.
  3. Then remove from the freezer and slice it according to your desired shape.
  4. Roll it in the 3 stage breading. Roll it first in flour, then eggs, and coat it lastly with breadcrumbs.
  5. To cook: Prepare a hot oil deep fryer and fry it one by one. Avoid overcrowding the fryer to maintain heat distribution and cook each nuggets thoroughly. Once the oul is very hot, adjust heat from medium-low.
  6. Once golden brown, remove from oil and transfer into a paper lined plate

Filipino Version:


  • 500 grams giniling chicken meat (chilled), piliin lamang ang breast part meat, dahil ito ay mabilis maluto. Huwag gumamit ng ibang chicken parts.
  • ¼ kutsarita ng asin
  • ¼ kutsarita ng puting paminta
  • 1 kutsarita ng garlic powder
  • 1 kutsara ng onion powder
  • 4 na kutsara ng chicken stock or water (chilled)
  • 4 na kutsara ng cornstarch
  • 1 kutsarita ng baking powder
  • Dash of nutmeg(optional)
  • Mga sangkap para sa breading:
  • Harina
  • Itlog (tinimplahan ng asin at paminta)
  • Breadcrumbs


  1. Paghaluin ang lahat ng sahog hanggang maging malagkit ito.
  2. Lagyan ng cling wrap ang baking pan
  3. Ilagay ang chicken mixture at i-flatten ito sa baking pan saka i-freeze.
  4. Tangalin sa freezer at hiwain sa gustong shape at size.
  5. Balutin ito ng harina, itlog at breadcrumbs.
  6. Sa isang saucepan, painitin at pakuluin maigi ang mantika.
  7. At saka ilubog ang piraso ng chicken nuggets, paisa isa lamang at huwag dadamihan para hindi mahilaw ang nuggets.
  8. Ilagay sa plate na may paper towels.
  9. Ihain ng may kasamang favorite sawsawan. Enjoy!
