2 cups glutinous rice flour

1 cup water

1 tsp green pandan extract

2 cups coconut, grated

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted and grounded

1 tsp green food coloring (optional, Ferna)


Mama’s Guide Procedure:
Boil a pot of water. Drop a teaspoon of pandan extract.
Put rice flour in a mixing bowl. Add food color into water and slowly add water until reaching the desired consistency.

Dust it with flour and continue kneading until it becomes dough look a like. It will be very sticky at first, you can use a spoon and keep on mixing and dust it with a little bit flour if needed.

Place it in freezer to chill for 5 minutes. And you can start to form it into shapes you like.

Take a portion of the soft dough and roll it into a ball between the palms of your hands.Pull lengthwise and shape into a tongue or round shape.

Drop into a boiling water. The dough is ready when it floats. Scoop it out with strainer and roll it in the sugar and ground sesame seeds mixture.

Note: You can grind the sesame seeds using mortar and pestle.
Place it on a serving platter. Top with grated coconut. Enjoy!
