This Filipino Style recipe of Garlic Butter Shrimp is super delicious and yet so easy to make. Just marinate the shrimp in lemon soda, toss, sauté all the ingredients together. Voila! You’ve got a plate of tasty and savoury shrimp Filipino Style Recipe. It doesn’t even need a lot of ingredients.
You can add an extra chopped red chili peppers to make it hot and spicy. Wow, thats yummy! You may also serve it on top of pasta. Happy cooking!
Garlic Butter Shrimp Recipe
1 kilogram shrimp
1 onion, minced
½ cup butter
4 tbsp garlic, minced
1 cup lemon soda
2 tbsp oyster sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 siling haba, (long green chili pepper)
3 tbsp spring onions, finely chopped
1. In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in lemon soda. (about 10 minutes)
2. In a skillet pan, Melt the butter in in low heat, but don’t burn the butter (it burns easily in high heat.)
3. Add the garlic, onions and sauté until the onions and garlic are fragrant.
4. Add the shrimp and then cook until the color turns pink to light orange (about 2 minutes only). Overcooked shrimp becomes rubbery in texture.
5. Pour the remaining lemon soda in pan. Let the some of the liquid evaporate and simmer. Do not let the sauce gets too dry if you want it saucy. Then add-in the oyster sauce and siling haba. Stir and let the shrimp absorbed the flavours.
6. Season with ground black pepper and salt as needed. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs like spring onions.
7. Serve and enjoy!
