Try this delicious recipe of Pesang Manok or Ginger Chicken Soup. Its healthy, simple and delicious. Its like Nilaga but the only difference is the ginger (Luya) and black pepper. Don’t forget the dipping sauce: Patis, calamansi at sili!
Pesang Manok Recipe
1 kilo Chicken, cut into serving pieces
4 cups water
2 cups chicken broth
3 thumbs ginger, (Luya) peeled and sliced
2 large potatoes, quartered
1-2 bundles Napa cabbage, cleaned
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 teaspoon whole peppercorn
In a cooking pot, add chicken, water, chicken broth, ginger, and whole peppercorn in a cooking pot. Let it boil then Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
Next, add your potatoes and cook for additional 12 minutes.
Finally, add the Napa cabbage and fish sauce. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Share and enjoy! Happy cooking!
