1/2 cup melted butter, cooled
1/2 cup brown sugar or white sugar*
1 can Condensed milk (400ml)
1 can Evaporated milk (125ml)
1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
*Using white sugar will make it slightly yellowish and not golden brown.
*add a pinch of salt to even out sweetness
First combine all the ingredients in medium heatproof bowl.
Cook it over double broiler. Set the bowl over a pan of simmering water or over steamer.
Stir it constantly with a whisk until quite thick but still of pourable consistency. It thicken as it cools down. So try not to make it so thick while its cooking or it will turn into hard candy once cooled.
