This Salt and Pepper Chicken (Chinese Style) is made from chicken breast fillet. Its easy and simple to cook. Delicious and tasty meal you can quickly cook for any weekend lunch or dinner with steamed rice. Happy cooking!
Salt and Pepper Chicken (Chinese Style)
1/2 kilo Chicken breast fillet, sliced
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup flour
Chopped green onions or spring onions
1 red hot chili, chopped (optional)
2 large bell peppers (red and yellow), wedged
1 white onion, sliced
1/2 Tbsp. ginger, minced
1 Tbsp. garlic, minced
1 tsp cooking wine (optional)
1 tsp 5 spice powder (ngohiong powder)
1 tsp sesame oil
vegetable cooking oil for frying
Salt and pepper
Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Then dip each sliced chicken breast in egg mixture (shake any excess) and roll it in flour.
Fry the coated chicken in a wok, until golden brown. Drain from oil and set aside.
In the same wok, stir fry garlic, onions, ginger, chili peppers, bell peppers. Add back the chicken. Give it a quick toast .
Put some cooking wine if available. Season with five spice, sesame oil, salt and pepper. Finally, sprinkle chopped spring onions
