1 pack (siomai/wonton) wrappers
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound shrimps, chopped
1/2 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups of cooking oil for deep frying
1. Mix all the ingredients for the filling. Place a small amount of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Fold a corner of the wrapper over the filling to meet the other corner to form a triangle. Hold the two long ends and gently bring together. This will bend the wonton and make it look like a nun’s hat. Moisten one of the ends with water and place on top of the other to secure. Repeat the process until all the fillings are used or until the desired number of wontons are made.
2. Heat oil in a deep pot. Fry wontons until golden brown and crispy making sure not to overcrowd in the pot.
3. Serve with sweet chili sauce or eggroll sauce.
