Bistek with Pineapple

Serve over rice and stir fry vegetables for dinner. Oh so yummy, makes me wanna cook this over and over again. Remember you’re not just limited with beef. You can also try pork or porkchop.


500g beef, sirloin, thinly sliced/tapa style

1/4 cup oil, for sautéing
1/3 cup onion, sliced into rings
3 tbs soy sauce
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbs lemon juice
1 can-432g pineapple tidbits, drained, reserve syrup

For marinade:
1/3 cup garlic, finely crushed
2 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs lemon juice/calamansi juice
1/4 tsp pepper
reserve pineapple syrup



In a container with cover, marinade beef with crushed garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, pepper, reserved pineapple juice for 1 hour in the fridge. Drain and reserve marinade after.

In a pan, heat oil over medium to low heat. Fry beef until tender. Drain from oil, transfer to a plate and set it aside.

In the same pan, saute onion until soft over medium heat. Pour soy sauce, pepper, lemon juice and remaining marinade. Simmer for 2 minutes. Add pineapple tidbits and fried beef. Over medium to low heat, let it come to a boil and let it simmer for additional 5 minutes. Turn off heat and transfer to serving bowl.
