These Orange Chocolate Truffles are heavenly and the best after dinner treat you’ll ever want. Why not make some real, mouth melting rich chocolatey goodness for your friends and family this valentines day? These are absolutely the perfect gift for Valentines day 2018.

For chocolate molds you may try the one I bought in Lazada, cheapest price ever DIY Little animal shape silicon molds for only 144 pesos with free shipping nationwide.

And for the frugal moms you can recycle any chocolate trays from old chocolate casing like Ferrero Rocher. I have always kept the inside tray for future truffles. That cute gold tray is so elegant and perfect for any truffles you want to make. 😁😁 Happy cooking!

Orange Chocolate Truffles Recipe

1/4 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons heavy cream
4 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons orange liqueur
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
4 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

In a sauce pot over medium heat, combine butter and cream. Let it boil and turn off heat. Add in 4 ounces chopped chocolate, orange liqueur and orange zest; keep stirring until smooth. Pour truffle mixture into a shallow bowl or if you have a recycled chocolate tray of Ferrero Chocolate (I have kept some trays, lol). Let it chill to firm, about 2 hours.

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Scoop firm truffle mixture using tablespoon to create small balls (a melon baller is also good). Place on prepared baking sheet. Chill until firm, about 30 minutes.

Using a double boiler over lightly simmering water, melt remaining 4 ounces chocolate with the oil, stirring until smooth or over a microwave oven. Cool to lukewarm.

Dip truffles, one by one, into melted chocolate mixture. And lift it carefully using 2 forks, let any excess chocolate to drip back into the pot.  Tansfer each truffles onto lined tray. Chill until set.

Wrapped it up in fancy valentine wrappers. Enjoy!
