
Black Forest Cake Recipe (Filipino Style) –For some who wants a simple background of Black Forest cake, according to wikipedia; Black Forest Cake originated in Germany. They call it Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte or Black Forest Cherry torte because originally the cake is garnish with Black Cherries on top. It was called black Forest because of the Black Cherries.
What makes a Black Forest Cake? It’s a layered of moist chocolate cake flavored with Kirsch Water or Cherry Water, whipped cream, cherry toppings and chocolate shavings. Black Forest Cake is so simple in ingredients and yet so delicious! That’s why Black Forest Cake is famous on its own.

Black Forest Cake Recipe (Filipino Style)
Recipe #1
Ingredients:
1 pack Maya Chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup oil
Mama’s Guide Procedure:
1. Beat the eggs
2. Add the oil
3. Add water and mix well
4. Now add the cake mix. Mix until well combined. (Important reminder, don’t over mix or else the cake will turn out hard).
5. After that pour it on the cake pan
6. Cover w/ aluminum foil and steam for 30-45 minutes.
7. After, remove the foil and let it cool completely.
8. Level the top
9. Cut the cake in half.
For the frosting
Ingredients:
1 bottle Cherries
1/2 cup whipping cream (Frosty Boy or Whip it)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Chocolate shavings (use the peeler or cheese grater with a straight line)
* Whip the cream and add sugar little by little until your desired sweetness.
* Put half of the whipped cream inside piping bag or any plastic will do, then set aside.
* Add some cherries on the remaining cream and fold together.
* Spread the cream with cherries on the first layer of the cake
* Then sandwich the other half
* Spread some frosting on top then spread evenly.
* Sprinkle the chocolate
* Decorate.

Black Forest with Steamed Super Moist Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
A:
220g caster sugar
250ml milk
1tsp instant coffee
250g butter
3 eggs
B: (sifted)
135g plain flour
60g cocoa powder
¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
Mama’s Guide Instructions:
1. Put A into a pot, stir and cook with low fire till sugar has melted. Remove, add butter and stir till melted. Leave to cool.
2. Add eggs one at a time and mix till well combine.
3. Sift B, pour into A mixture and mix well.
4. Line and grease a round baking tin, pour in cake mixture and steam with Noxxa Multifunction Pressure Cooker for about 40 minutes till cooked.
5. Remove, turn out cake and leave to cool.
Decoration:

Black Forest with Steamed Moist Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
(A)
180g butter / canola oil
1 cup sugar (I used 2/3 cup)
1/2 can evaporated milk (I used low fat kind)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
(B)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
(C)
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Mama’s Guide Method:
1. Combine A in saucepan. Stir over low heat till sugar is dissolved and butter has melted (if using oil just mix together). Off fire and keep warm.
2. Add B into the slightly cold A.
Combine C and sift into a large mixing bowl. Pour the mixture in 2 over and stir till well mixed. Cake batter should be runny.
3. Heat up steamer. Lined and greased a 7″ round tin.
4. Pour batter into the greased tin and steam the mixture over medium heat for 40-45min till cake is cooked.
5. Let the cake cool before you start decorating.
Now we’re going to make the frosting.

1/2 cup whipping cream or all purpose cream, chilled
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Chocolate shavings
Instructions:

HOW TO MAKE STEAMED SPONGE CAKE FOR BLACK FOREST CAKE by Mama’s Guide
Ingredients:
4 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. corn oil
Mama’s Guide Instructions:
Separate egg whites and egg yolks. ( Save egg yolks for other uses. )
Beat egg whites until fluffy.
Add sugar and oil. And mix well. If it’s still too sticky, add a little more oil.
Pour the mixture into the flour and mix to make batter.
Spread a sheet of cellophane wrap in steamer.
Pour batter in carefully.
Put boiling water into steamer. Steam batter over high heat for 30 – 40 minutes.
Remove, cool.
To make the frosting:
