
This Korean Chapchae Recipe is special and delicious. A simple side dish (ban chan) you can add to your Samgyupsal. There are two language version for this recipe: English and Filipino. Happy cooking and enjoy!
Korean Chapchae
INGREDIENTS:
- 250 grams glass noodles
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup sugar
- 50 grams chicken breast filet
- 1 piece carrot, julienned
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 2-3 piece dried shiitake mushrooms
- ½ cup sesame oil
- 1 piece nori
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 egg
- 1 piece crabstick (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare the Chapchae Sauce: Simply combine the Japanese soy sauce and sugar and mix well. Set aside first.
- Make chapchae sauce again and marinate the chicken for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Cook the noodles: In a saucepan, boil water and cook the noodles for 10 minutes, strain and set aside first.
- Add or drizzle sesame oil on the noodles and stir well.
- Soak the dried mushrooms in hot water for 20 minutes until they become soft.
- Toast sesame seeds in a pan heated over low heat and set aside.
- Cook scrambled eggs: beat an egg and fry, cut lengthwise and set aside
- In a pan, saute the onion and then add the carrots, followed by the chicken and mushrooms until cooked. Set aside first.
- Transfer the noodles to a large pan and add the prepared chap chae sauce
- Let it cook and stir only for 5 minutes.
- Mix just until the mixture is smooth.
- Stir-fried vegetables and chicken can be added to chapchae noodles.
- Serving Suggestion: top the noodles with the following: egg, nori, crab sticks and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!

Korean Chapchae (Tagalog Version)
SANGKAP:
- 250 grams ng glass noodle
- 1 tasa ng toyo
- 1 tasa ng asukal na puti
- 50 grams na chicken breast fillet
- 1 pirasong carrot, hiwain ng maninipis
- 1 pirasong puting sibuyas
- 2-3 piraso ng dried shitake mushrooms
- ½ tasa ng sesame oil
- 1 piraso ng nori
- 1 tali ng spinach
- 1 kutsaritang sesame seeds
- 1 pirasong itlog egg
- 1 pirasong crabstick (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Ihanda ang Sauce ng Chapchae: Pagsamahin lamang ang Japanese soy sauce at asukal at haluin maigi. Isantabi muna.
- Gumawa uli ng chap chae sauce at ibabad ang manok ng 10 hanggang 15 minuto
- Lituin ang noodles: Sa isang kaserola ay magpakulo ng tubig at ilagay ang noodles sa loob ng 10 minuto, salain at itabi muna.
- Lagyan or patakan ng sesame oil ang noodles at haluin maigi.
- Ilubog ang dried mushrooms sa mainit na tubig sa loob ng 20 minuto hangang sa maging malambot ito.
- Magtoast ng sesame seeds sa isang kawali na pinainit sa mababang apoy at isantabi muna.
- Magluto ng scrambled eggs: magbati ng itlog at iprito, hatiin nang pahaba at itabi
- Sa isang kawali naman ay magisa ng sibuyas at saka ilagay ang carrots, sumunod ang manok at mushroom hangang sa maluto. Isantabi muna.
- Isalin ang noodles sa malaking kawali at idagdag ang ginawang chap chae sauce
- Hayaan itong maluto at haluin lamang sa loob ng 5 minuto.
- Haluin lamang hanggang sa maging pantay ang pagkakahalo.
- Maari ng idagdag ang mga ginisang gulay at manok sa chapchae noodles
- Serving suggestion, lagyan ang ibabaw ng noodles ng sumusunod: itlog, nori, crabsticks at sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
