Lutong Bahay (Daily Menu) · Shrimps

Serves: 4


1/2 Kilograms shrimp (sugpo), cleaned
2 cups coconut milk
2 pieces long green chili, (siling haba)
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
3 teaspoon garlic, minced
1½ tablespoons patis (fish sauce)
⅓ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter/cooking oil


In a pan, heat a little oil and butter to saute onion, ginger, and garlic. Let it cook until fragrant.

Season with ground black pepper and patis. Let it cook for 30 seconds.

Add the coconut milk and bring to a boil until slightly thickened and reduced. This is to let the coconut milk evaporate by boiling in medium-low heat for about 15-20 minutes.

Then add the shrimp. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes only. Add green chilies. Cook for additional 5 minutes.

Turn-off heat and then transfer to a serving plate. Serve and enjoy!
