
A must have Kiddie Party menu, specialy if your kids aren’t eating veggies! The sauce contains pureed carrots which will add natural sweetness and a healthy option to your spaghetti recipe.
Kids Spaghetti (Healthy Version)
INGREDIENTS:
1 Kg Spaghetti noodles
1 Kg Del Monte Filipino Style tomato sauce
2 Medium White Onions (minced)
1 Head garlic (minced)
2 tablespoons oil
500g ground pork
1 Medium carrots pureed in blender
2 cups diced or thinly sliced hot dogs
1 cup water
⅓ cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon salt
Pinch Powder Pepper
Fresh Basil Leaves, minced (or 3 tbsp Dried Basil leaves)
1 Box grated cheese for topping
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cook the noodles according to package directions. Set aside.
- Place the garlic, onion, and oil in a large saucepan or skillet. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until soft and fragrant. Add the ground pork and brown the meat until it’s completely cooked.
- Add the hot dog pieces and stir to combine. Add the water and allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, pureed carrots and evaporated milk. Continue to simmer the mixture for another 10-15 minutes.
- Combine the noodles and the sauce in a large pot or mixing bowl. Top with grated cheese.
