This Pork and Chicken Guisantes is a perfect combo. I cant decide which one to cook, so I combined two meat in one pot. It was perfect and more tasty!
Pork and Chicken Guisantes
1 kilo pork meat, strips (kasim)
½ kilo chicken breast fillet, cubed
3 pcs red bell pepper, julienned
3 cups green peas (I used frozen Farmland 400g)
4 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 cup beef broth/water
1 kilo tomato sauce (large size)
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce (alternatively soy sauce)
1 tsp rice wine (optional only
1 tbsp patis (fish sauce)
salt and pepper
1 In a pan, heat oil and pan fry chicken breast until lightly brown. Drain from oil and transfer into a bowl. Then, pan fry pork strips until lightly brown too. Drain from oil and set it aside.
2. In the same pan, reduce the leftover oil and sauté garlic, onions and tomatoes until fragrant.
3. In a large pot, transfer the sauteed garlic, onions and tomatoes, add in the chicken, pork, water and tomato sauce. Bring it to a boil and just let it simmer over low heat. Occasionally, stirring it so it doesn’t burn at the bottom.
4. Once the pork is tender add in the green peas and bell pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Season with worcestershire sauce, rice wine, patis, salt and pepper. Let it simmer for a minute or two. Turn off heat.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
