1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 hungarian sausage, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 white onion, minced
4 tbsp margarine
1 tbsp spanish paprika (or annatto powder
4 tbsp brown sugar
½ cup tomato ketchup
½ cup green peas
1 red bell pepper, sliced in squares
1 green bell pepper, sliced in squares
5 cups cold rice (left over), broken down in grains
salt and pepper, to taste
spring onions (dahon ng sibuyas), for garnish
1. In a large wok, heat oil and margarine over medium-low heat. Saute onions, garlic until soft and fragrant. Then, add the slices of sausages until brownish in color.
2. Add spanish paprika/annatto powder, shrimp, tomato ketchup and sugar. Mix it well until all the flavors are well incorporated.
3. Add in the cold leftover rice, green peas, red and green bell peppers. Toss and turn until the rice becomes slightly toasted.
3. Season rice with salt and pepper to taste. Mix it well until the rice becomes fragrant in smell. Turn off heat. Serve hot and enjoy!
