
Do you want to cook Pancit Canton for a simple occasion. Try this special pancit canton with tokwa, veggies and liempo. Super tasty and seasoned with oyster sauce. Update: I added an English version of this recipe upon a request from one follower. Happy Cooking!
Special Pancit Canton
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 tbsp oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced thinly
- ¼ kg pork belly/liempo, chopped in ½ inch strips
- 1 cup oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 medium size cabbage, sliced thinly
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- ⅛ kilong baguio beans, (sliced in slant)
- 1 bell pepper, strips
- 1 cauliflower, chopped
- ½ kg pancit canton noodles
- 5 cups water
- Salt and pepper
- 2 blocks tokwa/tofu
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a small pan, fry tokwa in oil until it becomes golden brown. Drain from oil and slice into strips. Set aside.
- In a large pan, heat oil to saute lots of garlic. Add sliced pork belly/liempo and adjust heat to low. Stir and then add oyster sauce. Let the meat absorb the sauce.
- And then add water, bring it to a boil and simmer over low heat until the meat becomes tender and cooked through.
- Once the pork is cooked, add the pancit canton noodles and season it with soy sauce. Followed by the veggies like carrots, cauliflower and Baguio beans. Mix it well until the veggies are crisp and half cooked.
- Five minutes before the other veggies are cooked, add the cabbage, bell pepper and onions in the last part of the cooking.
- Season it with salt and patis to taste. Lastly, add in the sliced tokwa. Serve and enjoy!
(Tagalog Version) Special Pancit Canton
MGA SANGKAP:
- 2 kutsarang mantika
- 6 butil ng bawang (tinadtad)
- 1 pirasong puting sibuyas (hiniwa ng manipis)
- ¼ kilong liempo (hiniwa ng pahaba)
- 1 tasang oyster sauce (mama sitas)
- 2 kutsarang toyo
- 1 pirasong medium sized repolyo (chopped in big size)
- 2 pirasong carrots (hiniwa ng pahaba)
- ⅛ kilong baguio beans, (hiniwa ng pa-slant)
- 2 pirasong bell pepper (hiniwa ng pahaba)
- 1 pirasong cauliflower, hiniwa ng maliliit
- 500g pancit canton noodles
- 5 tasang tubig
- Asin
- 2 blocks tokwa/tofu
- 1/4 kg hipon, binalatan at nilinis
- 2 tbsp sesame oil (optional lamang)
PARAAN NG PAGLULUTO:
- Sa isang maliit kawali, i-prito ang tokwa hanggang sa maging golden brown. Tanggalin sa mantika at hiwain ng pahaba. Isantabi
- Sa isang malaking pan, igisa ang maraming bawang at sibuyas. Ilagay ang hiniwang liempo at hinaan ang apoy. Hayaan maluto ang liempo at saka idagdag ang hipon.
- Halu haluin ito at Idagdag ang oyster sauce. Hayaan manuot ang sauce sa karne at hipon.
- At saka naman idagdag ang tubig, pakuluin lamang ito hanggang sa lumambot ang karne at maluto.
- Maari ng ilagay ang pancit canton noodles at timplahan ito ng soy sauce.
- Isunod na ang mga gulay katulad ng carrots, cauliflower at baguio beans. Haluin lamang hanggang sa maluto.
- Huling ilagay ang repolyo, bell pepper at kapag malapit ng maluto ang lahat ng sangkap.
- Timplahan ng sesame oil, asin at paminta ng ayon sa iyong panlasa. Idagdag na rin ang pritong tokwa.
