A hamburger patty that stays juicy and will never crumble. The secret is Carnation evaporated milk, the double-rich milk like no other.
That’s right, it takes evaporated milk to hold the ground beef mixture together. It keeps the moist and the crackers crumbs makes it tender. It won’t dry out or fall apart because of Carnation’s double richness milk. Also, delicious when paired with Del Monte Catsup.
This recipe is adapted from the 1959 “McCallum Vintage Recipe Divas – CARNATION BAR-B-BURGERS”

(Makes 6 servings)
Delicious Burger Patties
⅔ cups Carnation evaporated milk
1 ½ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard (or any mustard)
¼ cup onion, finely chopped
1 cup green bell pepper, minced/finely chopped
1 ½ pounds ground beef
½ cup grahams cracker, powdered finely
In a large bowl, blend all ingredients together until well mixed. Form into 6 patties and cook for about (fry, grill or broil) 5-7 minutes on each side.
