Make your own Mami Soup at home.. This is way better than the ones made from factories and bought from sari-sari store. Homemade is always the best and healthier (because you are able to choose the ingredients that go to your cooking pot).
Homemade Chinese-Style Egg Noodle Mami Soup
½ cup green peas
½ cup carrots, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 tablespoon canola oil
3-4 cups water
1 tablespoon soy sauce
a pinch of salt
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3-5 tablespoons hoisin sauce (add more depending on your preference)
1 pork, chicken, or beef cube
1 (200g) egg noodles (adjust to your liking)
3 stalks Spring onions, minced
In a pan, heat oil in to saute garlic and onions until fragrant and onions become translucent.
Transfer the sautéed garlic and onions in a soup pot. Pour in water, soy sauce, salt, sesame oil, broth cube, and hoisin sauce.
Bring it to a boil, then just let it simmer over low heat. Add egg noodles, carrots, green peas and spring onions. Continue to simmer for 5 minutes or until cooked through.
Serve it hot and enjoy!
Because egg noodles are heat-sensitive, you should only add as much as you can eat at one time. Or you may cook the egg noodles separately and place it in a separate bowl. You may add to the noodles in the hot soup upon serving.
You may add any meat as you like. Chicken, or beef, or pork may be added by sautéing it with garlic and onions. Water should only be added after the meat has just begun to brown. Boil the meat until it is soft. As directed, carry out the remaining steps of the operation. You may also add boiled eggs or any green leafy vegetables to make it more nutritious.
