Cajun Honey Butter Salmon Recipe

You will surely love these Salmon even if you’re not a fan of this fillet. They smell so good with the herbs, butter, mild spice of cajun and a hint of sweetness from honey. Happy Cooking!

Cajun Honey Butter Salmon Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 Salmon Fillet
  • 2 tsp italian seasoning (alternatively any dried herbs you have like dried parsley, basil, thymes or rosemary)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion Powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika, or regular paprika
  • 2 tsp cajun seasoning
  • ¼ tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ cup or 1 stick unsalted Butter, softened at room temperature
  • ⅓ cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil, divided
  • Fresh Parsley, as desired (alternatively cilantro)
  • Sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice/or lime

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C
  2. Prepare all the dry spice ingredients: italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked or regular paprika, cajun seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Mix them all in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine the creamy butter and honey, mix until well combined, set aside.
  4. Prepare the salmon by patting it dry using a clean paper towel, then drizzle with olive oil on each filet.
  5. Start seasoning salmon on both sides with the dry spice mix and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
  6. Brush the oven-safe dish with olive oil, then arrange the salmon filets in the baking dish Add a dollop of honey butter on each. Make sure its not overcrowded. Reserve the remaining honey butter for later.
  7. Bake over 200°C for about 10 -12 minutes or until flaky (with internal temp of 60°C). Please remember, baking time may vary depending on the size/thickness of your salmon.
  8. Just before the salmon is done (about 2-minutes before) add the remaining honey butter on the salmon and sprinkle some sesame seeds.
  9. When the salmon is done, remove it from the oven, transfer into a serving dish and drizzle excess sauce over it, sprinkle with fresh parsley or cilantro.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
