Creamy Spinach Dip (Angel's Pizza Copycat)

Do you want to make your own Creamy Spinach Dip pizza ala Angel’s Pizza? Some might say, nah just order and call… Yeah most people can, but not everyone. Try this simple copycat recipe, if you’re so curious about it and just want to try it..they are so yummy! In fact you can use any flat bread or toasted bread or even pandesal, and just do the basic Spinach dip..with lots of mozzarella cheese! Cooking Tips: You may skip the Alfredo sauce and just use lots of mozzarella cheese for the pizza base. Remember we can make it simpler at home. Anyway it’s just who cares.

Creamy Spinach Dip (Angel’s Pizza Copycat)


  • 1 (12″) Pizza Crust or dough, see recipe here or use ready made frozen, thawed
  • 1 package Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • For the Spinach Toppings/Mound:
  • 1 cup Cream cheese, softened, mashed
  • ½  cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 tsp minced garlic (or garlic powder)
  • ½ cup grated cheese 
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • For Alfredo Sauce: (or just use mozzarella cheese for the Pizza Base and skip alfredo)
  • ¼  cup butter
  • 250 ml heavy whipping cream 
  • ¼ cup cream cheese (2oz.)
  • ½ tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning, (substitute with dried parsley or basil)
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper


  1. For the Spinach Toppings/Mound:
  2. Prepare spinach by blanching it in hot water for 1-2 minutes. Once half cooked, drain and squeeze out remaining water. Chop in small pieces. Set aside.
  3. Soften cream cheese at room temperature, sliced in small cubes and mash. Pass it through a strainer and push with a spoon to make it finer and creamier in texture.
  4. Add heavy cream, and stir well until smooth. Add minced garlic, grated cheese, spinach.
  5. This is the dollop or mound of spinach in angel’s pizza.
  6. The pizza base sauce is alfredo sauce and mozzarella cheese. (or just skip alfredo sauce and just use lots of mozzarella cheese)
  7. For the Alfredo Sauce/Base Sauce:
  8. Add butter, heavy whipping cream, and cream cheese to a medium saucepan. Cook and stir while using medium heat until melted. Add the salt, pepper, italian seasoning, garlic powder, and minced garlic. Whisk continuously until smooth. Bring to a simmer, then cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until it begins to thicken.
  9. Stretch the dough into a round disc, rotating after each stretch. Stretch dough until desired shape is achieved.
  10. Brush the rim of the pizza with olive oil. Spread the pizza alfredo sauce evenly onto the pizza.
  11. Sprinkle pizza base with grated mozzarella cheese and scoop a mound of spinach dip just like ball floating around the pizza.
  12. Slide the pizza onto the baking sheet and bake for 15-25 minutes at 200°C, or until the pizza dough is golden brown. Rest for 3 minutes before slicing. Adjust baking time as needed, each oven may vary in baking time, so please always be on watch.
  13. Serve hot and enjoy!
